Vision 
Beers ES, a DC Public School, will be nationally recognized for closing the achievement gap, through our commitment to needs-based, small group instruction for all sub-groups, family and community engagement, development of a highly effective faculty and staff, and a research-based instructional approach that promotes academic excellence, physical, social and emotional growth for all learners. 
 
Misson 
Beers is a PK3 – 5th grade elementary school, guided by the traditions of DC Public Schools’ Capital Commitment, which emphasizes academic and social success, feeling connected to school, and being prepared for whatever comes next. A Beers education is grounded in learning sciences, promotes college and career preparation, and provides opportunities for intensive, targeted intervention and enrichment based on need. A student‐centered learning community that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and focuses on the education of the whole child, Beers guides the social emotional and academic development of each student.

Principal's Message

Dear Beers Elementary School Students and Families,

As we enter this new school year, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all students and families. Especially to those who are new to our school. At Beers Elementary, excellence is at the forefront of everything we do as we aim to help our students achieve success by developing their unique talents.

We are committed to providing a quality education that supports each student's growth towards academic excellence, personal and emotional growth, respect for self and others, and social and cultural awareness.

Our school motto is "Success, Nothing Less!" This motto is a reminder that as a community, when we work together, we can achieve great things. Our school incorporates a rich learning environment that embraces everyone's differences, celebrates our diversity and enables students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

At Beers Elementary School, we encourage open communication between parents, teachers, and school administration. Parents are always encouraged to participate in their child's education, as studies have consistently shown that parental engagement is critical to a child's academic success.

We ask parents to advise us of any concerns or issues that arise and communicate how we can support our students holistically. We also welcome suggestions from families on how we can build a stronger school experience together.

We are excited to work with our amazing students and families this year and look forward to building on our successes. We ask that all Beers Elementary School students commit themselves to being Respectful, Organized, Accepting, and Responsible (ROAR) in their learning journey this school year.
